Virtual Sonic
Any of you who've passed by the Rumors section know that I believe Sonic Xtreme music is all hiding right under our noses in the form of the "Virtual Sonic" CD that Howard Drossin released in Late 1996/Early 1997. This would be where I'd post links to the MP3s, but instead I'm going to point you over to TeamArtail. They have low quality streaming versions of the music for you to listen to, as well as information on where you could purchase the "Virtual Sonic" CD.
Sega X: Sonic X-Treme
Sega X dates back quite awhile in Sega's history, to around the time the Saturn was alive. They continued to prosper and grow throughout the Dreamcast era, and now, their website (Segadreamcast.net) is defunct. This is an interview Sega X conducted with "SonicTeam" back during that era about Sonic X-Treme. It contains playtest impressions from the E3 demo, too. Credibility for this is fuzzy, though, so be warned.

These should go in the image gallery, but they're not really images of Sonic Xtreme. They are, however, in some way, shape or form, related to Sonic Xtreme.

Video
It's finally here. I put up the old Sonic Xtreme TGS AVI for all of you. It's 796KB, has no sound, and serves as the only video of Sonic Xtreme in action, although it appears to be a highly early Beta. On several occasions Sonic passes straight through rings, and the movement seems stiff.

Interviews
Shortly after opening this website in Feb, on one boring night, I was inspired suddenly to seek down Howard Drossin's email and ask him about the Virtual Sonic CD. As it turns out, apparently Mr. Drossin lacks any form of connection to the internet at all -- his music company has no website and after an hour or more of searching, he had no email to speak of either. Dissatisfied with the results, one by one I went down the list of the Sonic Xtreme staff -- coming to alot of dead ends. After 2-3 of these dead ends, I finally got sick of searching down the list -- so in a last ditch attempt I tried to track down whom I figured would be the hardest one of the bunch to find -- Mike Wallis, the Producer of Sonic Xtreme. Wouldn't you know it? By some strange coincidence I actually got ahold of Mr. Wallis, and he agreed to answer my questions. Time passed -- Mike, being a busy man wasn't able to answer my questions, and due to the nature of the questions I asked, it became even harder because he had to write out alot of backstory and ask counter questions to some of mine. Eventually it came down to him asking me if I'd rather do the interview over the phone -- Being somewhat shy as I am, and due to some technical problems, a friend of mine, Chris Alcock (Mantrid) approached me saying he'd be more than willing to sit in for me. Shortly afterwards, Pachuka of the Sonic Cult also stepped in. I was all ready to have Mantrid do the interview when Mr. Wallis brought up an interesting note: the phone bill. An overseas call would simply cost way too much, and Mantrid lived in the UK -- by process of elimination, my only remaining choice was Pachuka; and so the interview took place on June 9th 2002. Both an MP3 and a transcript of the interview are availiable edited in parts to protect a few of the parties mentioned.
